  1. Where can I get a kindle to buy in Ghana and at what price.

    • [delurk] I still have no intention of puihacsrng a Kindle for myself–like others, I am bothered by its requiring you to purchase ebooks in proprietary format, and also, the 10-cents-a-pop for every file you email to yourself to put onto it is annoying. But it had never occurred to me how useful it could be for agents or editors, easing the task of reading manuscripts. Now that, I think, would make the device worth the investment. I’m glad to hear it has proven useful to you!

  2. According to Amazon’s website, they sell directly to customers in Ghana. Have you tried one of the links above? If they won’t ship to Ghana, let us know so we can update the support level.

  3. The Kindle Whispernet service is NOT SUPPORTED IN GHANA .
i know this because i’ve been trying to connect for weeks and those are the words of the international customer support personnel i spoke to.

    • Thanks for the information, we’ll correct our information. :) Interestingly enough, that information originally came from Amazon, so perhaps they either supported in the past or made an error in saying that there was support in the first place.

  4. Amazon does ship to Ghana, and Whispernet is available there. I am currently in Ghana and have been downloading books on my Kindle Keyboard 3G. The network speed is 3G in Accra and Kumasi, and EDGE in most other places. You can verify this information by contacting Amazon.

  5. Thanks JR, we’ve updated the page to reflect the availability of Whispernet in Ghana.
